Dips, Tricks, & Smooth Style at 200 Grand, Lake Merritt Dance Center!

Dips & Tricks are safe, non-acrobatic partnered moves that you can do for both performance & social dancing (provided you have room on the floor!)

They involve slides, drops, simulated splits, & even some limited lifting.  They're flashy, fun, & safe to do.  (They'll dazzle your friend & just might even "awe" them, too!)

Smooth style Lindy Hop of course, is that form of "jitterbug" dancing that's the direct precursor to West Coast Swing.  With fancy footwork & it's "slotted" 8-count & 6-count patterns danced with tension, it is best danced to the boogie-woogie type of swing dance music typified by the 1940's Big Band, Post War Jump Rhythm & Blues, & early 1950's Rock n' Roll music genres.

These fun & energetic three week mini intensive workshops will focus on all of the above.

In addition, if students enroll for the whole 3 week series, they can get a HUGE DISCOUNT on PRIVATE LESSONS!  (Contact Michael Quebec directly at maquebec@... for details on that offer!)

Info on the Lake Merritt mini workshops are as follows:

      Location:

Lake Merritt Dance Center/Veteran's Memorial Building
      Top Floor
      200 Grand Avenue

      Instructor Bios:

Mike Quebec has been teaching Smooth-style Lindy Hop, West Coast Swing, Collegiate Shag, Bop, & partnered dips, tricks, & acrobatics for ten years. He's been featured on KTVU's "Hot August Nights" tv special & has opened up for rock n' roll legend Jerry Lee Lewis at San Rafael's New Year's Eve Celebration.

With a background in tap, gymnastics, & fitness, he is a patient & thorough instructor who specializes in teaching raw beginners how to swing dance, as well as adding to those intermediate lindy hoppers who wish to increase their level of performance & add to their repertoire.

Bobbi Maas has been studying ballet & tap for over ten years & has been teaching & performing for five years.

In addition to modeling & studying journalism, Bobbi is much more patient than Michael Quebec (& prettier, too!)
