    Put this in your batch file... reg ADD HKLM SYSTEM CurrentControlSet Services Messenger /v Start /t REG_DWORD /d 2 /f That resets the service to automatic.

      Put this in your batch file...
      reg ADD "HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Messenger" /v Start /t REG_DWORD /d 2 /f

      That resets the service to automatic.

      Then use "net start messenger" as the next line in the batch to start the service.

        Disabled or on manual? Try this:

        NET START "<servicename>"
