The Mediterranean Historical Review, now nearing its twentieth year, is a
bi-annual, refereed journal published by Taylor & Francis Ltd, which seeks
to encourage the study of issues in the history of the Mediterranean basin
whose significance transcends a particular area or period. It integrates
various problems in the ancient, medieval, early modern and contemporary
history of the Mediterranean and aims to publish articles that emphasize
contacts, relations and influences within the Mediterranean context as
well as questions of a comparative and comparable nature. Recent issues
of Mediterranean Historical Review include a special issue entitled
Mediterranean Paradigms and Classical Antiquity' edited by Irad Malkin
(MHR 18-2, Dec. 2003) and a special issue entitled 'New Historiographies
of the Ottoman Mediterranean World' edited by Amy Singer (MHR 19-1,
      June 2004).
