    Hello From The BAHL Office!

While it would have been better for the zam to break down after the season finished, we were able to get it fixed quickly thanks to T & E and back to the building in time for this weekend’s MCAHA adult tournament.  Approximately 14 adult teams will take to the ice beginning Friday at 2:30 for their annual 3 on 3 tournament.  These guys always have a lot of fun on the ice and this tournament is a great financial boost for the league.  Admission to the tournament is free, so come out and watch a game and buy some raffle tickets for the great merchandise they will have available to win!

This Sunday’s public skate has been moved to 4:00-6:00 pm to accommodate the extended tournament schedule.

We have just over a week left of ice at Centennial so make good use of the remaining drop-in sessions that are available.  The full schedule is available on the main page of our website  www.centennialicearena.net.

    2011-2012 Board is set:

At Tuesday’s Annual meeting and elections, current board members George Benztel and Glen Korf were re-elected for a second term.  Claudia Glantz, a varsity parent, completes our board roster as the third member voted in.  Our next board meeting will be Monday, April 11th @ 6:00 pm at Centennial.  At this meeting, the proposed squirt division structure will be discussed along with our regular agenda items.  Thank you to all the nominees and everyone who supported the league Tuesday.

    Casino Night:

Attached to this email is a flyer for our annual fundraiser, the Blades for Billings Casino Night.  Forward this flyer to any and all friends, family members and neighbors.  With the discontinuation of the $100 BAHL fundraising fee for next season, this event is more important than ever to completing our projects this summer.  If you would like copies of this flyer to distribute, I can get them for you – just let me know how many you need.

Registration for the big event is available through our website at www.centennialicearena.net.  Pre-register through the site for the poker tournament and save the $25.00 entry fee.

The list of items available for the silent auction during Casino Night is growing each week but already includes rounds of golf at Lake Hills, Powder Horn, and Eagle Rock; custom artwork and framed hockey prints; a golfing speed cart; Billings Bulls season passes, a guided trip down the Big Horn and numerous restaurant certificates.

    Fundraising:

If you are interested in participating in the fundraising committee, please contact me.  A committee is being formed to review the multitude of individual fundraising options for the league and to decide which to pursue.  Any fundraising done to benefit the player directly such as wreath sales, will be conducted and supervised through this committee.

    Survey:

Also attached to this email is a summary of the BAHL survey.  Thank you again to those who participated with your feedback.

    Until next week!

      Hello From The BAHL Office!

Ice looks great, the arena looks great and the number of skaters on the ice has been good this week.  One more week of our September schedule which is mainly drop-in sessions and then we move to our October practice schedule.  Don’t forget that you can view the arena schedule at any time through our website at www.centennialicearena.net, just choose the “view schedule” tab on the left side of the page.

Do you have a skater who is at least 16 years of age?  Does this skater need or want a job during the hockey season?  The arena is hiring for skate guards to help during public skate this season.  We will work around travel team schedules.  Send the office an email if you or your skater is interested.

      Peewee Tryouts:

This weekend is the Peewee Travel Team tryout sessions:  Saturday @ 7:00 pm, Sunday @ 10:00 am and Sunday @ 5:00 pm.  Peewee parent meeting will be held during the Sunday 5:00 pm session.  Remember that your skater needs to attend two of the three sessions.

      Public Skate:

Our regular season public skate sessions start this weekend!  Saturday and Sunday afternoon 1:00-2:45 pm both days.  Next week our Tuesday and Thursday noon sessions start as well (12:00-1:45 pm both days).

      Mouthguards:

Ostby Orthodontics will offer a free mouthguard fitting which includes a free mouthguard on Sunday, October 7th 3:00-5:00 pm.  This fitting will take place at their heights office which is across Wicks Lane by Wal-Mart.  All BAHL and Learn to Play skaters are welcome to take advantage of this offer!

      Rental Equipment:

Did you miss our equipment date yesterday for the first session of Learn to Play?  Cristina will be available on Saturday during the Learn to Play session at 12:00 to fit your skater.  Please send me an email if you are in need of equipment to get started for this first session.

Mite and Squirt players who need equipment for this season – we will schedule an equipment date for later in October to get you covered.

      Registration Discount:
