BACnet Atlanta: "A discussion on the future of BACnet"
- [Forgive me if you have received this already. It was pointed out that there are some Yahoo mailing list members of the affected working groups that are not on the "meeting attendee" mailing list that I had previously used for this distribution]
For the upcoming Atlanta meeting, there is a time slot available on Monday's schedule marked "TBA". Carl pointed out earlier that this would be for a broad discussion on the future direction of the AP, SG, XML, and IT working groups, and more generally, on the future of BACnet itself.
Since I was, for better or worse, the instigator of this, I've written up some ideas for discussion. I think the document introduces itself, so I won't spend any more words talking about it here.
Please read it. Think about it. Discuss it with your companies (including your marketing departments!), and come to Atlanta prepared for a very interesting discussion.
I'd like to ask that we *not* get into a discussion in email about this before the Atlanta face to face. If you will not be in Atlanta and would like to have some comments presented to the group, please feel free to send them to me and I make sure they are included in the discussion.
