While no wrongdoing was determined in this instance, it's important to
remember that BGT is based in a strong ethical philosophy.
Just to reiterate on this point: In this case the tester did exactly the
right thing. The manufacterer was approached to provide additional information.
The manufacturer rep managed to determine that the caller was a BGT Tester. The
manufacturer offered additional product, not for testing, but as a friendly
gesture. Nothing illicit was intended or attempted at any time. To his credit,
the tester realized the potential exposure and made a public posting to the
group explaining the situation. Well done. That was exactly the right thing to do.
When in doubt about a particular situation, post a question to the group. If
you are concerned about a public posting for one reason or another, post to
your monitor or moderator who will then take approprate action.
