SAN JOSE, CA -- The Choral Project, the critically acclaimed Bay Area vocal
ensemble, will present "A Jubilant Song," a concert of choral music that
celebrates life, love and the human spirit. The concerts will feature the
Bay Area premiere of Eric Whitacre's "Leonardo Dreams of His Flying
Machine," a composition about inspiration and genius based on writings from
da Vinci's manuscripts.
The program also will include: John Rutter's evocative "Hymn to the Creator
of Light," Lajos Bardos's powerful and celestial "Libera Me," Rene Clausen's
exciting and celebratory composition "A Jubilant Song," lush, romantic works
by Lili Boulanger, Sara Hopkin's ethereal "Past Life Melodies," which
features rarely heard overtone singing, as well as energetic spiritual
settings by Rosephayne Powell and Moses Hogan.
The concert will be performed Friday, May 10, at 8:00pm, at Mission Santa
Clara, on the campus of Santa Clara University;.
