The Pacific Boychoir Academy, the country's fastest-growing professional
concert boychoir, is seeking a vocal coach to join its Music Staff.
Responsibilities initially would entail vocal coaching for small groups of
      boys and large-group warm-ups on Wednesdays from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in
Oakland. Candidate would be primary for consideration to direct the
intermediate-level group, to choose repertoire and rehearse that group as
its own entity later in the year. The position presents an exciting
opportunity to be part of a growing program and establish a standard for the
intermediate choir. Pacific Boychoir boys are accepted by audition and are
eager to learn about singing and music.

Applicant need not have a Masters degree, but must have extensive vocal
      and/or choral experience.
Applicant must be interested in working with a dynamic, flexible staff.
Applicant must be familiar with Kodaly hand signs and solfege.
Applicant must be an enthusiastic teacher.
Applicant must be comfortable teaching, leading, and disciplining groups of
      8- to 10-year-old boys.
Applicant must be capable of discourse with parents.
Applicant must be willing to approach diverse repertoire.
Limited keyboard skills are helpful, but applicant need not consider oneself
      an accompanist.
Star Wars knowledge a plus, but not required.

Position begins September 6, 2000, and is renewable yearly based on the
      academic year.
