Slavyanka MenÂ’s Russian Chorus and Women Singers Present
In honor of the 140th and 70th anniversaries of his birth and deathÂ…
“Rachmaninoff Known and Unknown
Lovers of choral music wonÂ’t want to miss one of these three
opportunities to hear glorious choral music from one of RussiaÂ’s
greatest composers. YouÂ’ve heard his dazzling piano and orchestral
compositions, now come hear some of Rachmaninoff 's equally amazing
choral works, including selections from his beloved “Vespers and less
well known “Liturgy -- some of the most moving pieces of sacred music
ever written -- plus rarely heard secular romances, "Three Russian Folk
Songs" with piano accompaniment, and a beautiful choral concerto that
Rachmaninoff wrote when he was just twenty years old.
These concerts will feature SlavyankaÂ’s traditional menÂ’s choir,
augmented by our new Slavyanka Women Singers, a forty voice ensemble in
all, led by SlavyankaÂ’s exciting new artistic director Irina Shachneva.
