This month's feature will be the award-winning a cappella group SOLSTICE.  Their music spans many different genres with an emphasis on world, classical, pop, and jazz. They are also committed to performing new works for women's voices and regularly compose, commission, and arrange new songs.  First Place winners of the 2007 San Francisco Regional Harmony Sweepstakes, Becca Burrington’s arrangement of Joni Mitchell’s “Blue” won Best Original Arrangement.  Solstice ranked 3rd at the National 2007 Harmony Sweepstakes Competition, and they recently won second in the Bay Area Regional Harmony Sweepstakes. Solstice has performed in many Bay Area venues including Freight and Salvage, La Pena, the SF Community Music Center, Music on the Hill, Villa Montalvo, and on KALW's Folk Music and Beyond On-Air Folk Festival. They have produced 3 CDs, including songs in 8 different languages.  Solstice includes members Emily Bender, Becca Burrington, Lark Coryell, Krista Enos, Mari Marjamaa, Kim Warsaw, and Sara Webb-Schmitz.  <http://www.solsticesings.com>

AND...the heart and soul of Third Thursday: YOU, either as performer or audience member.  Drop in for some laughs, songs, poems, prose, instruments, spoken word, and any other talents you have.    Each performer has 5 minutes to do their thing.  It is an evening rich with entertainment.

For PERFORMANCE SIGN-UP email <janetrac@...>, and arrive before 7:30 to check in.  Show is from 7:30 to 10:00 with an intermission.  Spaces are limited so we can end at 10:00, allowing our volunteer crew to get home at a decent hour and keeping the neighbors happy.   A cappella, acoustic, or plugged in are all welcome.  We have a sound system.
