On Saturday, August 6, the Stanford Summer Chorus will present the program:

Amazing Grace: Exploring the Roots of the American Choral Tradition,
showcasing an incredible variety of music from colonial times to the 20th
century, with featured soloists Lindsey McLennan, soprano, and Celeste
Winant, mezzo-soprano. The concert begins at 8:00 pm in Memorial Church.
General $10 | student $5 | senior $9. For tickets and information please
      visit: http://music.stanford.edu/Events/calendar.html

In addition to the featured soloists, several soloists from within the Chorus will be presented, including this writer (Stephen Elrick), who will sing the first verse of Amazing Grace as the traditional tenor solo.

This promises to be a rewarding (and inexpensive) concert to enliven your mid-summer.  Please do try to come, if you can.  Thanks!

      Stephen Elrick
