      Here is some information on an event for singers put on by NARAS (The
      Recording Academy).

      November 13 & 14, 1999
      Vocal Tech 1999
      Ex'pression Center for New Media, Emeryville

      The 2 day, must-attend extravaganza for serious vocalists. A stellar
      celebrity line-up featuring Patti Austin, Walter Afanasieff, Lenny
      Williams, Madeline Eastman, D'Wayne Wiggins, Joey Blake & David
      Worm from SoVoSo and more! Interactive workshops focusing on vocal health,
      technique and performance refinement. Our most intensive Vocal Tech ever!

      Saturday November 13 10am-4pm we will have a morning
      session on vocal health with Dr. Izdebski and Dr.
      Sloan, two top voice specialists, followed by lunch
      and then a master class on Speech Level Singing with
      David Stroud.

      Sunday November 14 10am-4pm we will have morning
      workshops in alternative vocal approaches; followed by
      lunch, and then special guest Patti Austin will kick
      off the afternoon session with a keynote. Then we will
      have workshops in various vocal styles and studio
      singing with some top vocal artists.
