Are you a soprano or tenor looking to improve your a cappella arranging
skills? The award-winning vocal arranger, composer, and musical director
for Flying Without Instruments, Stephen Saxon, is accepting a small number
of applicants to sing with the ensemble and study vocal arranging at the
same time. Study scores, write and edit arrangements, and have a live group
available to read through your work.
Students will be expected to sing with the ensemble and must pass a vocal
audition to join the group. Any age is welcome. Weekly rehearsals are held
on Tuesday evenings in San Francisco (near Potrero Hill). One-on-one
lessons may be scheduled outside of rehearsals.
Basic or intermediate familiarity with Finale of any version is preferred,
but not required.
To apply, email Stephen at stephen@...
. Please include some
information about your singing background, your general musical background,
and your goals for your own arranging.
