The Antiquarian Funks is a musical group specializing in authentic
musical performances of rarely heard works from the Renaissance and
Early Baroque periods. The Funks were founded in 1971 by UC Santa Cruz
astronomer emeritus and "Head Funk" William G. Mathews and have
been performing ever since in a wide variety of combinations and venues.
The Funks perform with reproductions of original antique instruments.
In keeping with its popular Christmas concerts of the last several
years, the Chorale offers a program of music from the fourteenth century
to the present. The Chorale and The Funks will perform works from
Praetorious and Palestrina to Vaughan Williams and David Willcocks,
presenting different settings of beloved tunes (European and American)

The Santa Cruz Chorale, a non-profit organization founded in 1983,
performs a wide-ranging repertory including works from the 16th century
