The Oakland Jazz Choir hosts Open Rehearsals and visits Oakland Public
      Schools for Jazz Appreciation Month

The public is invited to a free choral exchange between OJC
      and the Cal Jazz Choir

Oakland, CA the Oakland Jazz Choir (OJC) will hold open rehearsals
Wednesdays in April from 7:00 10:00 pm at the First Congregational
Church of Oakland, 2501 Harrison St.

Wednesday, April 2 will feature a choral exchange between the Oakland
Jazz Choir and the Cal Jazz Choir. Both choirs will perform jazz
arrangements and discuss musical processes in an informal setting. The
public and the press are invited to witness this exchange and all OJC
Wednesday night rehearsals as part of Jazz Appreciation Month
      activities sponsored by the choir.

In addition, OJC will be bringing jazz into the public schools for Jazz
Appreciation Month. At a time when the art education is a luxury, the
choir intends to introduce vocal Jazz to the youth in our community and
let them have fun giving it a try themselves. Emerson Elementary and
Hillcrest Elementary schools have been selected to receive these OJC
educational visits. These are not open to the public, but the press is
      invited to attend.
