Musica Extemporanea, a workshop series led by Scrumbly Koldewyn and
Doni Tamblyn, begins June 6. Singers who want to improvise (and
improvisers who like to sing-basic musical skills required) can learn
to invent harmonies, backups, and even lyrics in the moment. Short on
lecture and long on get-in-there-and-do-it, these fabulously fun
classes are perfect for individuals or performance groups. Scrumbly,
founder of acclaimed vocal groups like The Distractions and The
Jesters, has composed, arranged and musical directed for stage, radio
and film since 1970. Doni, a former Bay Area Theatresports Workshop
Player, founded two award-winning groups, Sirens and The Dinettes, and
currently leads Improvox, a group that solely performs musical
improvisation in front of live audiences. The workshops will be held
on Saturdays from 2-5. Space is limited. Call now 415 267-3034 or
e-mail humorwrx@..., and get ready to innovate!
