      Volunteer Publicity & Business Manager
      Position Description

      Position Title Urban Harmony Movement Publicity & Business Manager
      Supervisor Susie Martin, UHM Program Director
      Worksite Bay Area Community Centers

      Importance of job to the organization/clients:

      The Urban Harmony Movement is a community a cappella program developed by
      the Contemporary A cappella Society. Our mission is to spread harmony
      through harmony by building a supportive community through a cappella
      singing. Some essential factors in developing these socially empowering a
      cappella groups (both teen and adult) are recruitment of singers, promotion
      of the UHM group through publicity and setting up community performances
      for the group. An effective Publicity & Business Manager will help create
      a positive and dynamic profile for the Urban Harmony Movement and provide
      the UHM group opportunities to spread its harmony community-wide through
      performance and membership.

      Time Frame
      Length of commitment 6 months at least
      Estimated Total Hours approx. 2 hrs/week
      Scheduling Flexible

      Major Responsibilities
      1. recruit new singers through advertizing/marketing
      2. research, pursue and organize performance opportunities for
      UHM group
      3. manage publicity about UHM group and performances
      4. keep records and files of advertizing/publicity materials
      5. cooperate with UHM administration guidelines and
      collaborate with UHM Program Director and
      Music Director to improve program

      Qualifications Needed
      1. membership in a UHM acappella group as a singer
      2. enthusiastic, positive attitude and friendly demeanor
      3. excellent interpersonal and communication skills
      4. good organizational skills, ability to keep accurate records

      There will be an orientation session to introduce the Publicity & Business
      Manager to UHM materials and guidelines.
