      East meets West - Music for Lunar New Year
      San Francisco Renaissance Voices begins their 2007 Season by welcoming the Year of the Boar with “Music for Lunar New Year”. These fusion performances combine the European polyphony of Charles d’Ambevilles’ (d1637) Messe des Jesuites a Pekin (Mass of the Beijing Jesuits), performed alternatim style with the instrumental music of traditional China between the polyphonic choral sections. Directed by Todd Jolly, San Francisco Renaissance Voices will be joined by Lion Dancers Jonathan Jiang and Gary Tang, and members of the San Francisco Joyful Chinese Ensemble featuring Xiong Qi Ming, Wu Guo Wei and Huang Ze Qin playing music for erhu, goahu, ruan and di.
