      Sacred Music of Guillaume Dufay

      The pre-eminent composer of the 15th century, Guillaume Dufay did
      more than any other to usher in the Renaissance in music. Vox Populi
      presents motets by Dufay in praise of the Virgin Mary; his epochal
      Nuper rosarum flores,sung for the consecration of the great
      Cathedral in Florence; and the luminous Missa Ave Regina coelorum,
      an incomparable synthesis of early Renaissance church music.

      Vox Populi Vocal Ensemble is a mixed-voice a capella chamber choir
      based in Berkeley, California that specializes in performing the
      choral music of the Renaissance. Singing without a conductor, Vox
      Populi is dedicated to democratic artistic decision-making and the
      joy of connecting immediately and spontaneously with our audiences.
      The ensemble has performed in churches, museums, and other public
      venues throughout the Bay Area since 1998.
