Benjamin Britten: A Ceremony of Carols

Composed in 1942 as Britten crossed the Atlantic in a cargo vessel

Carols became so popular that Britten's publisher requested an SATB
version. The Society will present that 1955 arrangement by Britten's
friend and associate Julius Harrison coupled with pieces from the
Finnish pan-European collection Piae Cantiones (1582) and English
works of the Middle Ages and early Renaissance.
