      The California Bach Society presents the first Bay
      Area performance of P�rt�s latest choral work, a
      powerful, atmospheric homage to the Russian Orthodox
      chant tradition. Centered on the theme of personal
      transformation, the canon of repentance is one of the
      oldest services of the Orthodox liturgy.

      Ruth Escher, Suzanne Elder Wallace, Scott Whitaker,
      and Hugh Davies, soloists.
