Save the most romantic night of the year to celebrate with a cappella
      music in Santa Cruz!

      Valentine's Voices
Santa Cruz Acappellafest and Talent Showcase (SCATS) brings you
Valentine's Voices, a series of benefit concerts that celebrate love
for family, friends, community and most especially sweethearts.

The first concert is a family oriented concert, on Sunday, February
9th a Kuumbwa Jazz Center, 320 Cedar St. in downtown Santa Cruz at
1:00 pm. This concert will feature two women's a cappella groups,
Voices of the Valley & Mama Medicine. These lovely ladies will
delight audiences young and old with songs of love for children,
family, friends, play, community, and all the good things in life.
Also featured will be the Santa Cruz Family Peace Chorale and Celtic
music performed by Emily Jackson and Shayna Asher-Shapiro, talented
children from Monarch School. The concert will be rounded out with a
family Sing-a-long with music teacher extraordinaire, Tanya Ossipoff.
Tickets are $8.00 for adults, $5.00 for children under 16, on sale at
Gateway Books and Gifts, 1531 Pacific Ave. Santa Cruz, (831)429-9600
      (tickets subject to surcharge).

The next event is a night of lush, romantic music, on Valentine's
Day, February 14 at 7:00 pm & 9:00 pm, also at Kuumbwa Jazz Center.
Bay City Opera's Lori Rivera, with Art Alm on piano will dazzle the
audience with cabaret style vocals, the smooth romantic songs of love
from the Big Band Era to the present. Also featured will be Speedzoo,
an a cappella quartet of the wacky persuasion, offering love songs in
the humorous vein. Local a cappella women's ensemble, Windham Voices
will perform exquisite songs from the modern classical music genre.
You will also be able to choose your sweetie's favorite song, and The
Human Jukebox, a duo of piano & voice, will serenade them with a
special dedication, from your heart to theirs'. The entire evening
will be filled with romance in the form of beautiful music, the scent
of red roses, Kuumbwa's marvelous wine & coffee selections and
decadent desserts. Come with your special one and enjoy a night to
remember. . Tickets are $18.00 per person, on sale at Gateway Books
and Gifts, 1531 Pacific Ave. Santa Cruz, (831)429-9600 (tickets
      subject to surcharge).

Proceeds of the concert series will benefit Monarch Community School,
      a public alternative school.
