      Hi Debra,

      Just about all azaleas will grow in full shade under oaks with sandy soil.  There are azaleas all over the low country region of South Carolina --- lots of oaks and sandy soil.  The only possible problem is if there is too much shade.  The azaleas will grow, but they won't flower very well.  Azaleas need at least a little exposure to develop flowers.
