Re: Series of generators

If they are on the same shaft and they have the same number of poles and coils each of the stators will be in phase and they can be rectified or inverted

Re: Series of generators

I have built a long shaft that allows me to have three stators and 6 rotors - on a single shaft - they are all in phase and can be rectified and inverted

Re: Series of generators

We have an experimental setup where we are using three 1000W three phase alternators, on a single rotor shaft, each alternator is connected to it’s own

Re: Series of generators

Okay, for stupid question #2. If you built these alternators with accuracy and then phased their output so the drag on each was out of phase with the others,

Re: Series of generators

we already know that a 9' blade is needed to make 1000 w at 15mph http://www.green-trust.org/windpowercalc/eindex.html that could be two 500w rotors, or one

Re: Series of generators

agreed, but but shouldn’t we be talking about the rated wind speed for the design and accordingly match the impeller and the alternators? From:

Re: Series of generators

Actually, the load would determine the stall point based on current wind conditions, not the capacity of the alternators. Clarkson University had a dual rotor

Re: Series of generators

Nothing wrong with that, just so long as the total power of the alternators matches the impeller power. From: mailto:axialflux@yahoogroups.com Sent: Sunday,

Series of generators

Has anyone attempted a series of these generators on a single shaft and what would be the pitfalls?
