      JUNE NEWSLETTER

Hail from The Red Masque. While The Red Masque do not venture forth
much during the hot summer months lest their skin burst into flame
(except for that tan-skinned infidel Kiarash Emami), the band will
be performing at Georgia's ROGUE FEST on June 18-19 (just outside of
Atlanta in Decatur). As all good (or bad in this case?) things come
last, The Red Masque will ascend the stage during the witching hour
of midnight on June 18. No word yet on whether Cthulhu will be in
attendance; however, TRM's mascot, Nipples the Rat, plans on
appearing sans pasties. The Red Masque will feature songs off of
Feathers for Flesh, their critically-acclaimed 2004 album available
through BigBalloonMusic.com, as some older material and two brand-
new, never heard songs. "Carbon 14" is a rather intense workout
inspired, in part, by the La Brea tarpits in California; while "Not
Afraid (The Anti-Man)" is an anthemic "rebel" song -- however the
rebels aren't human. For more information on ROGUE FEST, including
ticket details and additional band schedules and descriptions,
      please see http://www.roguemusicfest.com ...

Next month, The Red Masque brings their dark little cloud back to
Philadelphia when they open for Belgiam chamber rock legends,
Present ( http://www.totalzoo.com/present )on July 7. For those of
you who are attending the North East Art Rock Festival on July 9-10,
or the pre-show on July 8, coming into town one day early will be a
rewarding experience. The Present/The Red Masque showcase on July 7
will be available to a limited audience in an intimate theater
venue. Only 100 persons will be able to reserve tickets. Tickets are
$20 and the showtime is 8 PM. To reserve your tickets now, please
call the Allens Lane Art Center at 215.248.0546 or email
theredmasque@.... For full details about this show,
      please visit http://www.theredmasque.com/news.html

Finally, if you haven't visited The Red Masque's website lately, be
sure to click on http://www.theredmasque.com as many major updates
have been in the works. Revamps include an updated downloads page (
see http://www.theredmasque.com/downloads.html ), new gallery photos
      ( http://www.theredmasque.com/gallery1.html ), additional background
details and other tweakings, new reviews (
      http://www.theredmasque.com/review.html ), and a new art gallery
where you can view artwork created by all the band members (except
for that infidel Kiarash Emami. Damn is he a procrastinator!). View
the art gallery here: http://www.theredmasque.com/art.html. The band
also has an online forum available here:
http://theredmasque.proboards19.com/index.cgi. For info on where to
purchase The Red Masque music, please visit
http://www.theredmasque.com/music.html and then click on whichever
album title you are looking for. As always, all of The Red Masque
back catalog is available through http://www.bigballoonmusic.com In
addition, the band will be bringing their CDs to both the ROGUE
FESTIVAL and NEAR FESTIVAL (at the Big Balloon vendor table). See
www.nearfest.com for information on NEAR FESTIVAL.

The Red Masque is a Philadelphia-area dark avant/psych rock band
featuring bitter, cynical underpaid musicians who work day jobs
whilst plotting the overthrow of the government, the music industry
and society as we know it. But first they have to find someone to
      babysit their cat....

Those saltshaker guys from Skaro, get a few pangalactic gargleblasters in
them and they're not so bad. Except for the singing, of course.
