Group Description

To join: We require a one-line statement of specific interest in this group, which you will be asked for when you sign up.

This group is primarily for members of the Albany Area Amateur Astronomers. One purpose of this site is to coordinate last minute decisions to go out to observe, based on weather. We also discuss other AAAA events, and all subjects related to amateur astronomy of interest to the members. Membership is open, but prior approval required to keep out spammers. All posts go up without prior approval, but the discussion group is moderated in the sense that good manners and common courtesy are expected.

Click on the Clear Sky Clock: it will take you to another site where, if you click on the hours, you will get a detailed cloud and observing condition forecast with the Landis Arboretum located in the cross hairs. The forecast conditions will be inaccurate, but you won't know HOW they're going to be inaccurate. There are many other web sites where you can get inaccurate weather forecasts, but this is the one we use.
