      perceptrons and Adaline are both so simple that I have not
      looked to closely at them, but a quick glance at
      "Naturally Intelligent Systems" by Caudill and Butler seems
      to indicate that the main difference in the nodes
      (training may be another matter) is that Adaline forces the
      output to -1 or +1, whereas perceptrons allow a graded
      response (possibly taking on values between the
      extremes).<br><br>Although I do recall a few interesting projects based on
      very simple neural systems such as these, I'd
      recommend examining more capable neural networks. They
      don't have to be complicated, either: RCE is fairly
      straightforward and is extraordinarily easy to
