      You are cordially invited to participate in the Third
      International Conference on Intelligent Data Engineering
      and Automated Learning (IDEAL2002), to be held in
      Manchester, UK, 12-14 August. The conference is
      supported by IEEE and UK EPSRC, and is becoming a major
      inter-disciplinary event. We have selected 89 high-quality
      papers from over 150 submissions world wide in the
      Proceedings, which is being published by Springer-
      Verlag in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science series.

      The main themes of the conference are Document/Web
      Analysis, Knowledge Engineering, Data Mining, Financial
      Engineering, Agents, and Bioinformatics.

      Guest Speakers include Michael Dempster of University
      of Cambridge, and David Jones of University College London,
      and Ian Horrocks of University of Manchester.

      On-line registration is available. The registration fee
      covers a copy of Proceedings, access to all sessions,
