Prisma Color Assignments
- Greetings Art Educators,
A good introductory lesson to Prisma colors is the personal mandala.
This lesson has been done successfully with grade 5 and up. Sharon
Kennedy did it with high school students. I have some examples of
sixth graders on Incredible Art Department (from Gina Grant):
Here are Sharon Kennedy's:
She has some followup colored pencil mandalas, too.
An excellent colored pencil lesson is Ken Schwab's Focus Down Circle:
shown here are examples from Andy DiConti - middle school. this lesson
has been done with middle school through high school. More details can
be found in Ken Schwab's book Drawing Course 101.
Here is another excellent lesson by Susan Camin:
Here is an illustrated word lesson by Wendy Free:
See Mike Saccos' colored penicl with foil tooling:
Prisma colors on black paper are very striking.
