Dear Art Educators,
Or "Free Time Activities"--This is a topic that I will be putting on the
site. It will eventually be linked from my Teacher Resource Files page and
from the IAD Lesson Plans Pages....Is it necessary to put ideas for high
school? I only taught high school four years (and three years quite a while
back) but never had a problem keeping them busy. Once they were done, they
filled out a project evaluation form - wrote a critique about their work -
answered some short answer essays - and moved on to the next project.
Stragglers filled out their critique sheets as homework. They also had
research topics they were working on. If high school teachers want to jump
in with what you do - please feel free and I will add them to the file. So
far what I have is elementary and middle school level. I will be putting a
link to Michal's ideas too: http://www.geocities.com/theartkids/drawing.html
See also Marty's Drawing Drawer:
I would like to see some creative ideas suggested for Michal to add at #16
and #68 (those are the ones that were removed from the list). I will start:
"Draw a caricature of your favorite celebrity or sports hero" - "Draw
yourself showing emotion - Are you angry? Happy? Surprised? Puzzled?" These
aren't too creative - see what you can come up with.
Post ideas you have used to keep the students busy. Some of our "Sub plan"
activities can also be used.
For Linda Woods - I have two posts saved from you - all good ideas! Diana
and Tracy, I have yours, too.
