Painter/Sculptor/Musician/Teacher art show party Saturday
- All members of the art_education group are cordially invited to attend the opening reception party for David Tobey's exhibition: "Abstract Imaginaries 2012" -- all new enamel paintings on canvas & welded steel sculptures -- on Saturday afternoon May 19th from 3-6 at Pleiades Gallery 530 West 25th Street in New York City's Chelsea Art District. Live music, refreshments and interesting conversation guaranteed!
David is a professional musician (Juilliard grad and a founding member of the the Westchestchester Philharmonic); teacher (music and art at two New Rochelle NY middle schools and privately); and a visual artist (painter and sculptor with dozens of solo & group shows to his credit).
You can see images of Tobey's paintings on his web site at http://www.davidtobey.com, but photos can't possibly replicate David's "Imaginaries" adequately. Visit the gallery to see this show first hand. Best of all, if you're in New York, join us at our opening reception on Saturday afternoon May 19th from 3 to 6 where you can meet David personally, speak with him about his work and he can answer any questions you might have. You'll also enjoy complimentary refreshments and live music by keyboard artist Kirk Ehrenreich (and David himself will most likely perform on violin as he usually does).
Thanks, and we hope to see you there!
