        when doing this project...I have the students use crayons on the paper or poster board and then color over the whole thing with black crayons...I save all the broken and discared ones and keep them separate bagged just for projects like this...

        The original crayon must be very shiny and heavy. IF this was true, then the next thing is to look at the tempera paint. It shouldn't be thin, it should be normal to heavy.

        Sometimes we have to start over...no one enjoys that!...but it's part of learning.

        I just had to redo some work with some grade 2's...the paper I used was too absorbent and the whole project was a disaster. You should have seen the looks I got!!  :o)
