      *Dear Colleagues,*

*the CNRS, the University of Pau (France), the European Virtual Institute
for Speciation Analysis (EVISA) and the International Association of
Environmental Analytical Chemistry (IAEAC) invite you to take part in the
13th Workshop on Progress in Trace Metal Speciation for Environmental
Analytical Chemistry. The objectives of this 13th Workshop is to position
the major advances made in the field on analytical strategies for trace
metal and metalloids speciation in the environment and to discuss the
enhanced information value for an understanding of their impact, cycling and
fate. Beyond bringing the state of the art in various aspects of speciation
in solids, sediments, soils, biological tissues, water and air, this
workshop will open up the new horizons in the field of speciation analysis.*

*These aspects will be discussed in the following sessions: *

**Speciation, lability, bioavailability and transformations *
*Direct and in-situ speciation analysis *
*Speciation of metal species in colloidal and nano-materials *
*Metal speciation in the environment and legal aspects *
      *Speciation in industrial applications *
*New analytical strategies for metal speciation including isotopic

*The following distinguished experts have been invited and already confirmed
      their participation: *

      - ***Prof. Laura Sigg (Environmental Toxicology, EAWAG, Duebendorf,
      - *Dr. Roland A. Diaz-Bone (Microbiology I & Instrumental Analytical
Chemistry, **University of Duisburg-Essen, Essen, Germany)*
      - *Prof. Jos Paulo Pinheiro (Faculty of Science and Technology,
      University of Algarve, Faro, Portugal)*
      - *Dr. Geraldine Sarret (LGIT, UMR 5559, Univ. J. Fourier & CNRS,
      Grenoble, France)*
      - *Dr. Armand Masion (Centre Europen de Recherche et dEnseignement des
Gosciences de lEnvironnement, Europle Mditerranen de **lArbois, Aix
      en Provence, France)*
      - *Dr. Pierre Vitorge (Laboratoire Analyse et Modelisation pour la
Biologie et l Environnement, LAMBE, UMR 8587, University of Evry, CNRS, CEA,
      Every, France)*
      - *Dr. Hakan Gurleyuk, Applied Speciation and Consulting, LLC, Bothell,
      - *Dr. Pablo Rodriguez (Department of Physical and Analytical Chemistry,
      University of Oviedo, Oviedo, Spain)

*Anyhow, the major part of the scientific programme and therefore its
quality will heavily be defined by submitted contributions. We have extended
the deadline for abstract submission. **Abstracts may still be submitted
through the web site of the event until April 7 at:
