      To

      The Chairperson,

National Commission for the Protection of Child Rights

      New Delhi

In the petition of -  432 innocent tribal girl students disallowed from Matriculation Exam

      Respected Madam,

It is a very unfortunate incident that 432 Tribal Girl students have disallowed to appear the ongoing Matric Exam. As per the media report published in daily “Sambad” on 25.2.13, due to apathetic and serious mistake of the officials of the School & Mass Education department, 432 Tribal Girl students of Keunjhar district could not able to get their admit card and write the examination while the government and civil society members have been putting their best efforts for Tribal girl child education. This is a serious blunder, anti student and antinational work done by the DEO, Keunjhar & Secondary Board, Cuttack. Those students had every right to seat for examination as they were mentally & psychologically prepared and completed all formalities for the examination.

In view of the Child Rights Laws of this Nation & United Nations Convention on Protection of Child Rights those students have lost their right to education and right to participation. All of them are in mentally & psychologically traumatic position.

Simultaneously, the Odisha State Government is the greatest violator of Child Right to education because the state government did not provide appropriate permission, grant in aid, books, dress, MDM and all such benefit schemes for those Tribal Girl Schools till date. The State Government must be questioned about it.

I want to draw the attention of Honorable Commission in this incident and make an inquiry and recommend the State Government to make special arrangement for those students to seat for Matriculation Examination as well as provide appropriate recognition to those schools.

      Regards
