    Dear Friends ,

On 15th February in Garhi Besak village of district Panipat, the Khudai Khidmatgar organised a  Public Audit of the 'Prime Minister's 15 Points Programme for Minorities’ with special reference to education.

The outcome of this public audit was very shocking. The Garhi Besak is a village in Panipat district of Haryana which is just about 86 kms from the national capital Delhi and 14th km from Panipat has 90 percent of the minority population. The educational situation in this village seems to be worst in the nation.

There are only four people amongst the entire population who are post graduates. Murslaeen, Arshad, Sameeuddin and Zulfan has the credit of being post graduates of Garhi Besak besides some Graduates counting for the same in number. At present a total number of only 13 students are studying in graduate classes.

Only 50 percent children of 5 to 10 age groups were found going to school in 2013. Only 11 students passed 10th class in the said year. The situation of girls education is more worse as there are Government schools from primary to secondary level but the teachers are not coming regularly and situation of education is in bad condition over there.

Regarding the public involvement, there was a common consensus   that both the administration as well as the residents of the village is equally responsible as there is no motivation and awareness on the community level and the information about education and its importance is nil. Many youth told that it was for the first time in their life that they are witnessing this type of meeting that is going on in their village regarding the audit of what are their rights that the Govt. confers them. The youth showed their active participation and had active played their roles.

Also a team of volunteers with the name ‘village study circle’ was formed and it was decided that this study circle will make aware and inform village people about education. Also a cycle rally was planned to create awareness in the more potential way.

The audit panel comprised of renowned educationist Noor Nawaz Khan, Fateh Nadvi, Abdul Aleem from D.U, Faisal Khan and Lavesh from Study Point Delhi. It was also decided that a copy of the detailed report will be send to the State and the Central Governments as well as the concerned Ministries.
