    Socialist Party candidates will contest election only with one pamphlet in hand.

    The Socialist Party has decided its 3 candidates for the Delhi Assembly elections : Abdul
    Qayyum from Okhla, Anita Ujjainwal from New Delhi and Dr. RN Singh from Burari. The party
    plans to field candidates in 10 constituencies. Decision for the remaining constituencies will
    be taken soon. A number of socialist leaders and peoples movement activists including partys
    national president Bhai Vaidya, senior member Justice Rajindar Sachar, parliamentary board
    chairman Pannalal Surana, special invitee to the national executive Kuldip Nayar, national
    vice presidents Mohammad Shoeb, Sandeep Pandey and Balwant Singh Kheda, national general
    secretaries Dr. Prem Singh, Omkar Singh and Nurul Ameen, former MLA and member national
    executive Ramgopal Sisodiya, HMS president Harbhajan Singh Sidhu will participate in the
    election campaign.

    The Socialist Party has entered the election fray with the following agenda:
    Electricity, water, education and health services should remain completely in the public
    The decision of FDI in the retail sector should be repealed forever.
    Civic amenities should be provided to Delhi villages, resettlement colonies, and J.J clusters
    on a priority basis.
    Delhi Universitys four year B.A program should be immediately scrapped; the studying and
    teaching of Urdu and Punjabi language/literature should be given special encouragement; and
    the common school system should be followed.
    Justice Sachar Committee Recommendations should be implemented in toto in the state of Delhi.
    The victims of the anti-Sikh riots of 1984 should get full justice without further delay.
    Residents of Delhi, especially children, women and senior citizens, should be given full

    The candidates of the Socialist Party will contest election distributing just one pamphlet
    with an appeal to the voters : Whom would you help to win - the candidates of the Socialist
    Party whose politics is based on policies or people who take millions and billions from
    national-international corporate houses, and then contest elections for their benefit?
