Subject: Re: [arcusers] Handles for v2-8mDaryl,
Can appreciate your family priorities. Do hope your daughter recovers fully. On the land kites and four line handles have to tell you I've been there done that when I was trying to learn. And after the experience I would say skip the four line handles. They won't help you develop the skills you need on the water.
If you can get your hands on a land kite I'd recommend taking off the back lines and flying it with a bar and the two front lines with a windsurfing hook to hook into. Or, use your Arc's with the standard four line setup. This will help you on water. And, while Arc's fly great much better than tubes on snow and ice, I preferred a simple two line land kite I could set up in seconds with open intakes that inflated in seconds. You don't need much power on snow and ice. I used a two line 3m kite on ice and could go 30-40 mph wearing a helmet and peeing in my pants.
Hope this helps and that we can hook up over the winter again if you can get back to St. Pete.
