Might be a little tough.  The early AJB used a non standard "ISD-200" usb-1 chip, so you need a USB storage driver that supports this.  There were other devices made that used this chip such as early USB hard drive enclosures, perhaps one of those companies wrote a Vista driver you could try instead?  If you find one that works, please let us know!

You could boot up your computer with a bootable Linux CD like Knoppix that would connect to your AJB and then be able to transfer files to the NTFS file system on your computer (the later part is the hard part, you probably need a Linux that uses the NTFS-fuse file system driver.  Worst case you can have it copy to a FAT formatted USB stick.

It might be possible to get the old driver to work in Windows-7 using
its XP emulation mode, but I don't know how any of this works, it might
involve installing a copy of XP that run from Windows-7 using its
      virtualization capability.

You can also use the non-destructive Gparted utility:

http://gparted.sourceforge.net/livecd.php%c2%a0 To make room for another OS
on your computer that you can dual boot into (either an older version
of Windows, Linux, etc).  Hard part here is that Vista - being the
worst thing to come out of Micro$oft - messes up the MBR and so you
also have to install a Vista compatible boot loader to be able to dual
      boot such a system.

Some years ago I assembled a Linux bootable floppy disk to do some of this stuff (but not the NTFS write).  Of course who uses (or has) floppies anymore, but one could copy the image to CDROM using the "El Torito" floppy emulation feature.  See this link if interested: http://wartstew.homelinux.net/lud

Anyone have a solution to swapping files to the Archos from Vista?
