      these are water clover ferns. marsilea sp. they are marginal plants, common in rice fields in the tropics. some of them are said to adapt to a submersed state.

        these are water clover ferns. marsilea sp. they are marginal plants, common in rice fields in the tropics. some of them are said to adapt to a submersed state. available in the trade are marsilea crenata, drummondii, hirsuta. i have marsilea mutica, the variegated one but is not submersible.
