  • In the APRSIS32 port settings for you Kenwood, check the GPS/NMEA: This tells APRSIS32 that GPS data can be found in the same stream as APRS data: In the D72 GPS settings, turn on the PC Output and the PC Port: This will pass NMEA (GPS) to APRSIS32: This till pass APRS data to APRSIS32: From: aprsisce@^$1 [mailto: aprsisce@^$2 ] Sent: Tuesday, March 24, 2015 3:28 PM To: aprsisce...

  • My D72 does pass GPS NMEA data to APRSIS32. The radio firmware may have to be updated but I don’t know that for sure. I happen to have the latest. D72 Menu 202, ON, GPS data output to PC. APRSIS32 D72 port must have a check in the GPS box. Best regards, Fred N7FMH From: aprsisce@^$1 [mailto: aprsisce@^$2 ] Sent: Sunday, March 22, 2015 2:02 PM To: aprsisce@^$3 Subject: Re...

  • Hi Robert, My current experience with APRSIS32 (Winbook TW700) and Kenwood D72 using the default configuration [KWD710(APRS)] in the port setup is: The D72 transmits using the same call sign as the Winbook when APRSIS32 is connected every time. • H Lynn , When I first started, I had a bunch of little issues (USB) which would nag on occasion. Then I realized that I needed to start things in a particular order. Yep, I was being daft! What are the hard-coded commands? Best regards, Fred N7FMH PS. I wish the serial port supported KISS in/out and GPS out! From: aprsisce@^$1 [mailto: aprsisce@^$2 ] Sent: Monday, March 16, 2015 1...

  • Ok, that is what I thought but sort of hoping for something different. Primarily, I have been playing with my D72 with APRSIS32. When the D72 transmits, it uses the call sign from APRSIS32 rather than its own. As the WIKI says, the Kenwood gets confused. As a note, I have been reading through the manuals for the D72 and D710 in an attempt to identify some of the commands sent...

  • Greetings Lynn, Does APRSIS32 send the OpenCMD and CloseCMD for every packet it generates? I am working through the XML contents for the port I created in an attempt to understand what is going on. Thanks! Best regards, Fred N7FMH
