N1XED is running AGW Pro with a Kantronics KPC-3 (since he also likes to use UISS). I finally got his station working on the transmit side with APRSIS but receive is not. Below is a snippet of the AGW port log that shows a start. Note the few received packets have "Non-AX.25..." After this initial burst, there are never anymore received packets but the transmit packets continue to be written (and received here at my QTH).

If there is someone familiar with AGW Pro that can tell me what to do to fix Rik's receive problems I'd be very grateful.

The Non-AX.25 burst that you are seeing is a result of the startup commands (in particular the H) that APRSISCE/32 feeds to AGW.  This is the "Heard" stations list.  These initial errors can be safely ignored.  Eventually I'll either quit firing the command or I'll interpret and format the list somehow.  More likely the former.

Are you seeing any packets flagged with asterisks in the packet scroller?  You should see one for each packet decoded by AGW.  You can see these directly if you run the AGWmonitor program that comes with AGWPro.

If you enable the Port(AGW) trace log, do you see anything else in there beyond the stuff you've included below?  You should get a packet for every decode.

          Lynn,

None of the packets in the packet scroller are flagged with asterisks (the first thing for which I looked).

I'll have to get Rik to install and run the AGW monitor program. Unfortunately, he is (was) using the monitor that is part of UISS.

The snippet of the port log I posted last night was just the last few minutes. I will send you privately a log that covers several hours prior to that portion. There is no indication of any received packets in the log.

(Hmm, Rik had/has a cable problem between the KPC-3 and the radio. I wonder if the "speaker" lead is broken and the KPC-3 isn't receiving. Something to ask him this morning).

Looks like a normal log showing transmit-only activity and nothing being received.  Did you manually disable/re-enable the AGW port at:

            WinMain:2013-11-14T02:47:57.974 Stopping Port(AGW)
            WinMain:2013-11-14T02:47:57.974 Waiting at line 2258

            WinMain:2013-11-14T02:48:04.738 Starting Port(AGW)

Looks like it was running for just over 4 hours (14,405 seconds) when it was stopped and restarted.

If you restart AGW, that will clear the Heard stations list.  If they then start showing up again (queried every time you enable the port) then we'll know that something is being decoded but not sent to APRSISCE/32 for some reason.  If nothing shows up in the cleared Heard Stations list, you'll know that nothing is being received or decoded by AGW.

Of course, the AGWmonitor will show you this as well.

BTW, you should be able to run UISS and APRSISCE/32 in parallel talking to the single instance of AGW.  That's what the "port sharing" feature is all about.  That way you can see the packets (or not) in UISS.  Just make sure you only have the appropriate one transmit-enabled for the current frequency setting of the radio.

After this initial burst, there are never anymore received packets but the transmit packets continue to be written (and received here at my QTH).

If there is someone familiar with AGW Pro that can tell me what to do to fix Rik's receive problems I'd be very grateful.

              Just a quick update.

I was able to walk Rik through installing AGW Monitor. It showed no received packets. We backed up to square one. Using Putty, he is able to communicate with his KPC-3 but it never shows any incoming packets. He is seeing plenty of activity based on the LEDs on his radio and on the KPC-3. At this point, we suspect a problem with the KPC-3. He is going to install a SignaLink early next week and we'll have another go at it. Stay tuned.
