Make sure you've configured a Simply(KISS) and not just a KISS port in APRSISCE/32 and lock the TNC into KISS mode.  The default <CloseCmd>s for a KISS port will take the TNC out of KISS, but the <OpenCmd>s won't put it back in.  The KISS port (which needs to be renamed) was designed for Kenwood APRS radio TNCs.

In the end, your XML file should have only the following pair of commands in your enabled port.

      <OpenCmd>~!!</OpenCmd>
      <CloseCmd>~!!</CloseCmd>

PS. I prefer to do these support conversations in the APRSISCE Yahoo group as my philosophy is that for every question someone asks, there's probably 10 (or more) lurkers interested in the answer.  You may also get an answer quicker as others may know what you need to do.

      Hi Lynn,

I am trying to use APRSIS32 as an I-gate to fill in an APRS hole near where I live in the Champlain Valley, Vermont.  Unfortunately I can't quite seem to get it to work.  I think I am pretty close, because the log from the port connected to my TNC (a KPC3 version 6.0) shows that data is being communicated.  It just doesn't look like it's in the right format.  Running APRSIS32 built 8/30/12.

I get the "Missing Leading C0" error regardless of whether my TNC is in KISS or TERMINAL mode.  In KISS mode the log isn't showing any data except "KISS:Missing Leading C0[1]" when I power up the TNC.

Here is an excerpt from the log from my com port (TNC is TERMINAL mode).

Any help you can provide would be much appreciated!
