Well at the moment just working on a map for the WIKI, but the thought is there to get the country frequency tied in to the shapefile, for use within APRSIS, so yes that’s the way I am headed

Actually, if you can skype me the shape file, I was actively considering an APRS message server that allows you to query the APRS RF frequency for your current location or the location of another APRS station, similar to the way the SATSRV (send a message to ISS) works.

All I need to work out is the code to determine if a lat/lon is within a shape and then a cross-reference of which shape is what frequency, but that's the bit that you're working on, right?

And when I've got that done, I can probably leverage it into something greater, possibly via Lua.  BTW, have you searched for shapefile support in Lua-land?

The only thing I found did a poor job of it. Mind it was an un registered trial.

This is for the colour map of the world by APRS Frequency project

I am gradually filling that in as I get more replies.

I need a better base map than I have, that said if the info I have can be tied into an shp file maybe lynn can include it in APRSIS as an option, if anyone wants that.
