      If the client APRSISCE is in control, usually the Kenwood should be in
      PAKET mode. When in APRS mode, the Kenwood is in control. I am not
      sure what may be happening here. Maybe Lynn or others may have the
      answer. Are U sure you edited the right XML file? I have seen mails
      about the file extensions not showing and u maybe didn't get right file?
