Group Description

Apothem Tercet exists for shameless intellectuals, for the quaintly opinionated, for the strangely witted and for those who simply wish to wax eloquent in their hurling of praise, blame, complaints, humour and jibes at God, politicians, philosophers, Enid Blyton, war, peace, fish, non- Euclidean geometries, carrots, the world, other worlds, anything else not on this list and, above all, each other. If you've ever written something you've read back afterwards, kind of liked but utterly failed to understand, the list is for you. If you've written a thought-piece about unusual things you found in an ashtray one morning, subscribe. Apothem Tercet is French cafe society at the height of the Dadaists; Aristotle, Nietszche and Noam Chomsky having a night out on the tiles and getting into a fight; Escher meets Heath Robinson with only one canvas between them; Stephen Fry in debate with Karl Marx and Adam Smith. If this makes sense to you then join. If this makes no sense to you but you are intrigued then join. If you want to find a place to hurl gratuitous abuse and meet sexy bed partners then go away; we're all ugly virgins who can't get a date, but we make up for that by being a hell of a lot cleverer than you are.

The only thing that gets you kicked out once you're in is mindlessness.

[PLEASE NOTE: There is no mention of China above and that is intentional. Lost and lonely refugee English teachers seeking a new virtual home are welcomed but this isn't a China-centred list. Well yes, okay, actually it IS now, but that's not its intention. [Sighs deeply. Exits stage left]]
