Cotton Mouth help
- I recently obtained some rainbows. I knew they wer ehalthy, got them from a friend.Through circumstance, they ended up with a rather rough trip to get into my tank, and look like they are coming down with cotton mouth, columnaris. Here is where it gets ugly. Because I was confident in their health, they went straight into my display tank - a 180g, heavily planted, full of shrimp and snails tank. No way I'll get them out without hours of ripping out a hard and plant scape. They are eating like pigs - is there medicated food I could use for them? Will Maracyn damage plants/inverts? I shudder at treating a 180g tank with Maracyn, but...Anyone have thoughts? From now on, I don't care how healthy I know they are - and I'd seen these fish for months! - they go into QT for a month.Appreciate any insights.
