For friends & romantics, collectors and makers of old toys made around the turn of the century (1900). Histories of toy factories, toy makers, and toy shops. Toy soldiers, antique tin toys, dolls, doll houses, scientific toys, magic lanterns, books & games, automata, clockwork, trains, live-steam, classic model engineering, pedal cars, restoration, collecting, preservation, and discussion of when toys were built to last, and were supposed to be taken out of their boxes. Practices of today's "vintage" toy makers are welcome as well, business ideas, metal forming, casting, machining, painting, etc. Discussion is open, though toys mass-produced after World War Two are probably best left for another group. This group was started by Old Foundry Toy Works several years ago, to promote and exchange ideas related to this area of expertise.
