"And "The Last Supper" narrowly missed complete destruction in World War II when a bomb fell on the roof of the church: protected by sandbags, it went largely unscathed. "

This is yet another way in which the collectivity of humanity suffers as a result of it's obsession to destroy through the use of force.  Just think of what material forms of cultural wealth has been lost over the last 5 years through Bush's imperialistic take over of Irak- and what could be removed from the face of the earth should Iran be 'invaded'-  what has been lost in Palestine as a result of Israel's need to colonize.

There's a senator in the States who put forward a motion to impeach Dick Cheney recently.  Within his documented motion,  he cites the injury caused to Americans as a result of the 'proven' lies which Dick Cheney upheld and which subsequently led to Americans participating in unwarranted human carnage etc.

A small peice of this 'injury' is the pain felt within the collective social  fabric in respect to the destruction of the little that remains present on earth of humanity's historical legacy, reflected through art, architecture and artifact.

Materialist thinkers would desire with all the power within their souls to remain GOOD and true towards the dictum of the  'politically correct'  and  towards the direction  in which 'easy and comfortable thinking' flows,  themselves are representative of the great Michaelmic challenge.

How to effectively stall, through the use of our Soul capacities,  the fundamental forces which push forward  imperialism coupled with it's science for advancement of military might and dictatorship SEEMS to me to be the essense of WHAT current deep human reflection SHOULD lead one towards.

This 'need' seems to me to be part of the very essense of Michael intelligence.

      Carol.
