      PLS. CROSSPOST!

Action Needed by April 4th! Please speak out for Sammy, an 11-year-old
Beagle, who was allegedly battered and drowned. Charges have been filed in municipal
court but letters and faxes are needed to elevate this killing to where it belongs -- before the Grand Jury. Please read the information below and
      take the action requested.

Kindly send me (Terry Fritzges inga@...) copies of letters or e-mails you send on Sammy's behalf.

In loving memory of Sammy and other animals who suffer at the hands of humans,
      Terry

      -----------

I am sending this e-mail on behalf of Rachel, Sammy's guardian, who has
supplied me with the following information:

On February 28, Sammy was thought to be missing and Rachel searched for him for approximately three weeks. Within the last week, she was told that on February 28 her ex-boyfriend, Brian, kicked Sammy down the stairs, pulled him up by his collar, and noticed Sammy had started to convulse. Rachel was also told that since Sammy wasn't dead, Brian drowned Sammy in the bathtub. Again, she was told that Brian and another man took Sammy to an isolated area and threw Sammy's body into a creek. Rachel went to the site and found Sammy's body.

Animal cruelty charges have been filed in Maywood (NJ) Municipal Court but these alleged actions should be presented to a Grand Jury pursuant to a New Jersey law passed in 2001. The following acts are punishable by imprisonment and fines:
Please contact the Bergen County Prosecutor and politely urge him to
elevate this case to a felony law to the Superior Court, and prosecute it to the maximum extent of the law. New Jersey's legislators recognized the seriousness of
such actions; now it's up to prosecutors to enforce the law.

      Please reference the case:

      State vs. Hayes
