A short entry - AP Photographer Charlie Riedel just filed the following images of seabirds caught in the oil slick on a beach on Louisiana's East Grand Terre Island. As BP engineers continue their efforts to cap the underwater flow of oil, landfall is becoming more frequent, and the effects more evident. (8 photos total)

The last person I want to speak for wildlife is Sarah Palin. That's why I was shocked to hear that Discovery Communications -- the parent company of Discovery Channel and Animal Planet -- signed a deal with Palin for a new show about the "powerful beauty of Alaska."

Urge Discovery Communications to drop Sarah Palin's new show »

In Sarah Palin's Alaska, endangered polar bears and beluga whales are denied protections. Wolves are killed from helicopters and politicians like Palin propose $150 bounties for their limbs. Palin's Alaska has no business airing on a network known for its incredible wildlife-focused programs.

Our friends at Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund are leading the campaign to cancel the show. Add your voice to the fight and help spread the word to your friends.

Tell Discovery Communications to pull Sarah Palin's new show »

      Thanks for taking action!
